Dr. Diana Moss is an Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Appalachian State University. She received her B.A. in Discrete Mathematics and her Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Nevada, Reno. After teaching middle school mathematics for two years, she earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning/Mathematics Education from the University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, she teaches junior and senior undergraduate courses in mathematics content and pedagogy and is a member of the graduate faculty. Her teaching and research interests include children's mathematical thinking and teacher education. She is particularly interested in understanding how to support teachers to teach math so that their students will learn. Her work involves using design research in classroom settings to support learning through the perspective of social constructivism.
