Understanding the Roots of Migration

Why do so many folks migrate from Mexico and Central America to the United States? How does this impact your work as a public school teacher in North Carolina? Travel with us to Oaxaca, MX to learn more about the complex social, economic, and political reasons that drive people to leave their homelands. On this exciting program, you will have an opportunity to visit schools and learn from teachers and students, stay with a host family, and work with immigrant advocacy groups in Oaxaca.
This program to Oaxaca, MX for Spring 2017 is a Spring course for 1 credit hour, but travel happens right at the end of the semester in May. We will be having an interest meeting Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 6:00 pm in Rm 230 in the Reich College Of Education.
