The Gadugi Program and the Native American Student Association Sponsor the American Indian Film Series

The Gadugi Program and the Native American Student Association are proud to sponsor Appalachian State University's third annual American Indian Film Series. This year we will screen two documentaries and a film focusing on issues of American Indian history and culture. Each film will be shown at 6:00 pm at the Greenbrier Theater. On November 3rd the documentary Indian Schools: Stories of Survival will be shown; on November 10th we will show the film Skins, and the series will conclude with the award-winning documentary Honor Totem. With the current struggle at Standing Rock as a backdrop, it has never been more important to understand and honor the culture of First Nations peoples. We would love to have you and your students at each film, but this week's showing of Indian Schools: Stories of Survival might be especially interesting for some of you. Please spread the word around the college, and if you're willing to spread around a little extra credit that always helps, too! These films are all free to the public, though they may come at the cost of stereotypes and assumptions.
S'gi!
